Art is often a depiction of emotional state. During the creation of this piece I was going through what was possibly the end of a relationship that I’ve maintained for more than three decades. The realization that not everyone can come with you on your journey was a very emotional concept to come to grips with. There was a light that we saw in each other that brought us together, but now it feels like that light has been slowly dimming for a while. This piece was the result of sitting with those feelings and allowing them to flow through to the canvas. 24” x 24” - acrylic on canvas
